Department Description

The Department of Zoology was started in the year 1969.
One of the pioneer departments in the college to provide the knowledge about the biology of animals and to enhance the quality of education to the students.
Provide knowledge in the scientific study of molecular genetics, evolution, anatomy, physiology, ethology, ecology, economic zoology, bioinformatics and bioinstrumentation.
Hosts a rich museum with several preserved rare specimens, skeletal structures, corals and stuffed animals.
Well equipped with infra- structure and laboratories.
Aims to provide a strong base in scientific research activities.
Encourage the active involvement of the students to participate in the academic activities and co-curricular activities.
Update knowledge in academics by organizing conferences, seminars, symposia, workshops Science exhibition competitions and panel discussions.
As per National Education Policy, offers Discipline core, Elective courses and Skill enhancement courses.
Practice of Innovative teaching and learning pedagogy.
